Y

The book design for Y — an audiovisual work by photographer Angelika Annen and musician Ursina Giger translates the original interplay of image, voice and personal reflection into a tactile editorial format. The project brings together artworks, film stills, sheet music, portraits and interview transcripts, presenting the individual perspectives of 71 participants and forming a personal, multifaceted portrait of Generation Y. A restrained typographic system and carefully paced sequence give each contribution its own space while connecting the individual stories into a collective narrative. The publication preserves the intimacy of the audiovisual work while creating an independent reading experience.
