Seeing
The book design for Seeing, a reader series developed within the Visual Culture course of the MA Visual Communication at ZHdK, brings together contributions by students, designers, writers and researchers. Each volume explores the peripheries of visual perception and representation, directing renewed attention towards images that appear fleeting, ambiguous, unsettling or easily overlooked. The identity combines a striped, optically shifting logotype with a restrained and flexible editorial system, reflecting the series’ interest in unstable forms of seeing. Each volume is distinguished by an individual colour on the cover, while the black-and-white interiors establish a consistent framework for essays, image sequences and experimental contributions.
